International Women’s Day is recognized annually across the globe every March 8, but there is no reason that the celebration of women’s achievements should be limited to just one day. That’s why Vanita Panday with Caf and Tiffany Haynes with Fingercheck are proud to host a series of talks with a number of prominent women in digital identity, fintech, and financial services over the course of March, Women's History Month.
The series, titled Punching Through, will feature insights and perspectives from women leaders on their experiences in how they’ve made an indelible mark in the world. These rockstar women leaders from various disciplines including fraud, payments, payroll, customer experience, product development and more help drive the vision for some of the most prominent digital companies today.
Punching Through
What is now known as International Women’s Day traces its roots back to the early 20th century, and it was first made a national holiday by the Russian Provisional Government on March 8, 1917. Over the course of the next several decades, more and more countries began recognizing the date, culminating with the United Nations officially declaring March 8 as International Women’s Day in 1977.
This long and arduous path to global acceptance for International Women’s Day mirrors the hard-earned achievements women have made in the business world. At an accelerated growth rate each year, women are punching through traditional gender roles and assuming leadership positions in boardrooms and executive suites.
The Punching Through series features women leaders at the forefront of some of the most important work being done today in driving forward the next evolution of the digital economy. They're also championing initiatives to ensure that small businesses don't get left behind as the economy and technology advance. For example, as digital commerce becomes more experiential, there must come new ways to manage digital identity. The rise of concepts such as embedded finance and connected commerce have changed the way we conduct business online. Many of our speakers are playing a key role in driving these innovations and enabling small businesses and enterprise companies to thrive in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
